The Dynamic Trio

“A threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Eccl. 4:12

In the Beatitudes, mentioned in Matthew chapter six, Jesus taught the basics for living a successful christian life. His instructions address three specific duties that every Christian must combine if they wish to see the blessing of God released into their lives so that they can then be a blessing to a hurting world. These three duties are; Praying, Giving and Fasting.

A cord braided with three strands is not easily broken. Likewise when praying, fasting and giving are practiced together in the life of a believer, it creates a type of three-fold cord that cannot be broken by any weapon in the enemy’s arsenal. Could we be missing some of the greatest breakthroughs in our lives, because we fail to combine these dynamic forces together?

30, 60, & 100-Fold

In Mark chapter four we see the blessing of His divine harvest released in three measures. “thirty, sixty and one hundred-fold.” I believe that the key to reaping an optimal harvest is found in the three principles taught in the beatitudes. Prayer alone can bring a harvest of say… “thirty-fold”. However if you mix your praying with your giving (Acts 10:31), you’re aiming even higher and will reap “sixty-fold”. But if a believer is ever daring enough to combine their praying with their giving along with Sprit-inspired FASTING, they’re sure to reap “One Hundred-Fold”!

What is fasting? Stated simply, biblical fasting is refraining from food or any carnal appetite for a spiritual purpose. When you crucify your flesh in this manner, your spirit becomes uncluttered by the things of this world and remarkably receptive to the things of God.

Daniel fasted for twenty-one days. When his answer came through, the angel said that he had been delayed in a spiritual battle. Fasting prevailed because fasting breaks the power of the delayer! Fasting gets you to your promise quicker.

Fasting crucifies the flesh (Gal 2:20). The question is whether or not you will choose to dethrone the dictator within and release the blessing of God. Remember that without being combined with Praying and Giving; Fasting is little more than a diet with no power to release Matthew 6:33 in your life. If your fast doesn’t mean anything to you, it won’t mean anything to God.

Pray and ask God what He wants you to lay down over the next few days and whatever you chose do to in secret, He will reward you openly by releasing His overpowering blessing into your life!

Recession Prohibition

Presently, there is a climate of fear, uncertainty, and doubt in the air which is having far-reaching effects on everyone from millionaires to the latest panhandlers on the street. In fact, without a drastic change in the current “spend more save less” and “buy now pay never” axiom coming from the American people, as well as from those who seek to profit from their naivety, we may not see the end of this downward spiral for a while.

The saddest part is that many Born Again, Blood Bought, Holy Ghost Filled Believers have bought into the lie that they must be a participant in this financial downturn. Jesus made it very clear that He was “not of this world” (Jn 8:23) and, if you are born into His kingdom, neither are you. Even when confronted with this worlds financial responsibilities, like paying taxes, He stated in Matthew 27 that being children of the kingdom meant that we were not required to participate in this world’s financial system except to avoid offending the laws of the land. The laws of this land state that we are required to pay taxes but there is no law requiring our participation in a recession!

The Devil’s Not In A Recession!

America may be in a recession but I refuse to participate. I’m calling for an all out Recession Prohibition! One report recently stated that the sales of specified alcoholic beverages are on the increase along with the number of people involved in prostitution, in the middle of a recession. Dear God, if the devil isn’t experiencing a recession, why should we? Others may fall back on superficial solutions but we refuse to fall back on anything. We’re not falling back, we’re moving forward because we realize, now more than ever, that the Gospel must be preached.

You may say, “But Pastor, things are rough out there. How do I detach from this world’s system and connect with God’s provision?” The answer is very simple. First, you must realize that God never, ever, EVER responds to a need. If you’re need moved God then you wouldn’t ever have one. If needs moved God, Africa would be one of the most blessed places on the earth. Your need will never moved God but your faith always will!

Miracles Don’t Go Where They’re Needed…

A miracle never goes where it’s needed. A miracle only goes where it’s expected. Many of you have been talking to God about your need but you need to grasp that when you do that, you delay the hand of God from moving in your life.

Faith never talks to God about its need but faith always talks to God about a seed. I’m not talking about some pharisaical financial seed. I’m talking about the Word of God. Our God is a seed minded God and if you will let this mind be in you, which was in Christ Jesus, you will experience the full resources of heaven in your life and then you’ll join the Recession Prohibition.

Talk to God about His promises in that seed-bag we call a Bible and get ready to watch the hand of God move in your life!

Declare out loud, “I am not of this world and I refuse to participate in its recession! I’m a child of God and I have access to the full resources of Heaven so that I can take the Gospel around the world!” Begin to pray those Bible verses that the Holy Spirit has revealed to you in your personal study time and get ready to see drastic changes!

Enlist in this Recession Prohibition and fight the good fight of faith. Be sure to SHARE this blog only with those who can stand in faith with you and expect the miraculous on your behalf. Encourage them to pray with us and to join the Recession Prohibition.

Blessed… Whether You Like It or Not

“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power that works in us…”

Ephesians 3:20

Over the years the Church of Jesus Christ has become content to meander through the maze of mediocrity. We’re sheltered and have no intention of stepping out from underneath our religious canopy of comfort. Why should we? It’s cozy in here. It’s even safer in here! We know that just beyond the boundaries of this “storm shelter” we call the Church lies a world full of criticism and hatred. We perceive it as a world with no room in its heart for the unvarnished truth so, like Peter, we try warming ourselves by their fire while hoping to be inoffensive and unnoticed.

We pray that God would grant us the wisdom to preach this Gospel without embarrassment and in doing so we have engineered for God a new breed of Christian. Along with these new Christians, we’ve created our own little pet-doctrines that make more sense and require less effort.

It could be that most of our thoughts concerning the blessing of God stem from a heart of fear made callous by the circumstances of life; which were, in turn, made indifferent by the religious traditions of men. I suppose that you can always turn the page in your Bible and unwittingly claim certain things will only be answered in the pavilions of heaven, but you can never stay in blissful ignorance when confronted with the glory and the grandeur of the character of God. It is here, in Ephesians 3:20, that we are given a glimpse into the personality of God; He’s a God of Abundance!

You Will Be Persecuted

Christians today are afraid of the prosperity message. I can personally testify that you will be persecuted more from so-called Christians for believing in Biblical Abundance than you will from radical Muslims in the Middle East! It’s no wonder most are timid about believing this most basic of Biblical principles; you risk being labeled a “prosperity pimp” or some other gratuitous epithet followed by a series of ad hominem attacks as your motives are questioned and your salvation is scrutinized for simply taking God at His Word.

For most, the reason for their fear-based attacks has little to do with the prosperity message in itself. The truth is that they are hesitant to believe anything that deals with the manifestation of God’s goodness in the natural. They can believe for spiritual, unseen, things and they can pray, “If it be thy will, someday, maybe”, but that seems to be the extent of it. The reasons for this are obvious; claiming to pray for the unseen requires no effort.

These modern-day Sadducees won’t pray for God to do something right now because praying for the windows of heaven to open in the here and now takes some spiritual perspiration… after all “what happens if He doesn’t do it?” Standing in faith for God’s promise of Abundance requires integrity, humility, and a backbone. Signs, miracles, and wonders are intended to follow the New Testament believer. The world is tired of dead, cold, anemic, religion. They want a God that they can feel and God wants a people who can feel Him (of course our faith is not based on feelings, but God wants to manifest Himself to a world that’s on their way to hell).

It’s a shame that we’ve relegated the effects of the precious blood of Christ to the unseen areas of life when it’s obvious that His suffering should impact every area of our lives; seen and unseen.

Blessed = to be envied

We’ve missed the point of being blessed! The word “blessed” means to be envied. God wants to so overwhelm your life with joy, health, and abundance that the world will envy what you have received from your Heavenly Father. Believe me, once they see the blessing of God on your life, they will run to the Cross.

You can’t feed a hungry child in Haiti if you’re struggling to pay your own bills. Many people claim that it’s selfish to pray for themselves in this manner but when you appreciate that the world will never be blessed until you are, you’ll realize that it’s selfish if you DON’T allow God to bless you!

Blessed to BE a Blessing

God wants to bless you so that you can be a blessing. God wants you to have more than enough because there is always someone who doesn’t have enough and they need your help!

God wants to do more in your life than you have ever dreamed. Could it be that we have missed it somewhere? Ask God to search your heart today and determine to build your faith to receive every benefit provided though Jesus so that you can be a blessing and help to win this world for Christ.
