“Invasion of Wales by the Spirit” by James Stewart

Invasion of the Wales by the Spirit Through Evan Roberts by James A. Stewart, 1963, formerly of Scotland, then residing in America, having written the Introduction in Denmark! This is a good book on the Welsh Revival, the author spoke to firsthand contacts and was a friend of the Roberts’ family. He also quotes from Evan Roberts diary, family sources, other contacts and newspapers printed during the revival.
The central pages contain 6 black and white photos which add a nice touch to the book, seeing Evan and Dan Roberts, their home, home chapel of Moriah and a picture of friends and fellow worker Sydney Evans who latter married Evan Roberts youngest sister and went to the mission fields of India.
The book does not only contain reports of the revival, but general lessons on the subject of revival and the workings of God and man in revival. The book is split into 11 chapters and concludes with Evan Roberts’ favourite hymn. This is one of the better books on the Welsh Revival 1904-05 of which I have read around a dozen off; some reports and items within this book I have not read in any other publication.

“Spiritual Authority” by Watchmen Nee

Authority is a tremendous thing in the universe, nothing overshadows it. God’s throne is established on His authority. God’s authority represents God Himself. God alone is authority in all things; all the authorities of the earth are instituted by God. It is therefore important for us who desire to serve God to know the authority of God. God’s authority is absolute, hence we must give Him absolute submission (our hearts attitude) and absolute obedience (our outward actions).

“Beyond Opinion: Living the Faith We Defend” by Ravi Zacharias

Respected apologist Ravi Zacharias was once sharing his faith with a Hindu when the man asked: “If the Christian faith is truly supernatural, why is it not more evident in the lives of so many Christians I know?” The question hit hard, and this book is an answer. Its purpose is to equip Christians everywhere to simultaneously defend the faith and be transformed by it into people of compassion.

In addition to writing several chapters himself, Ravi Zacharias brings together many of today’s leading apologists and Christian teachers to address topics present in the very future of worldwide Christianity-from the process of spiritual transformation to the challenges posed by militant atheism and a resurgent Islam. Destined to become a classic, Beyond Opinion is a touchstone that will affect Christians around the world.
